Log #45–10/01/2022
First 2022 post!
NFTs are thriving! Crypto in general is bearish, but there are external actors influencing the charts. Hopefully, it’s just a temporary condition and we moon this year.
The project is going non stop. We are patiently building. Check the image below, it’s a lot of work and this is just one Companion! Everyday I feel like opening our socials and showing everything right now.
But we can’t, we are committed to only open to the public once we have a finished product. I know, there are a lot of projects building their community and creating their assets (3d or 2d) at the same time. We decided to do a different approach. So, yeah it takes a lot of effort and patience to just be quiet and work.
Also, anxiety strikes us from time to time. Personally, I turn to my hobby burn some steam.
Years ago, my wife and I have decided to try new activities. We were swamped by work and we thought we would do good for us to find new things to do.
Sure, we read books, watch movies, play videogames; but we were trying to find something we could actively transform in useful things, or at least tangible things.
After a few experiments, we found our jam. She started doing crochet and I chose woodworking.
This led me to build a fully equipped shop over the years and I can say I am quite good at this. We moved to a new house last year and the pandemics allowed me to build like 80% of our furniture. I discovered new niches, like resin epoxy, and added to my hobby. I even sold a few things, but in the end it was not worth the time versus my actual job.
My wife is a bit more multitask, she does crochet and sell her pieces, she is a lawyer and a doula (she does amazing belly art on her pregnant clients!). Yeah, she is always doing something.
And, as I said before, thanks to her this whole project is turning into reality.
On my next post I will share some of my work, the most artistic ones I think.
Oh, and I see a lot of discussions about mental health on the NFT community. If I could give only one advice, it would be to find something that moves you, some hobby, something you can turn raw materials into things. You are not going to be a pro from the beginning, but with time you can do anything! The feeling of finishing something with your bare hands is so good. Try for yourself 😊
